Associate Director, Finance Strategy and Planning

Anduril Anduril · Defense · Costa Mesa, CA · Finance & Accounting : Finance : Finance

Seeking an Associate Director for the Corporate Finance team to drive financial planning and analysis, synthesize data for executive decision-making, and optimize financial performance. Responsibilities include setting the financial operating calendar, translating financial data into strategic narratives, partnering with division finance leaders, improving financial infrastructure, managing consolidated budgeting and forecasting, driving capital strategy, and leading corporate finance operations.

What you'd actually do

  1. Set the Cadence: Create the financial operating calendar rhythm (monthly, quarterly, annually), internal team templates and deliverables, executive presentation preparation/dry-runs, and engage buy-in and alignment from cross functional partners ahead of executive communications
  2. Craft the Narrative: Translate complex financial data into compelling strategic narratives for the C-Suite and CFO, explaining the "why" behind our performance, highlighting key trends, and framing insights to drive critical decision-making.
  3. Be a Strategic Partner: Partner closely with finance leaders in each Division to understand key operational drivers, analyze performance against plan, and provide insightful commentary that adds critical context to consolidated results.
  4. Build for Scale: Continuously improve and scale our financial consolidation, reporting, and forecasting infrastructure, developing robust processes and models that can keep pace with Anduril’s dynamic growth.
  5. Own the Forecast: Run consolidated budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning. Synthesize business inputs into one financial outlook and surface risks, opportunities, and tradeoffs for leadership.
  6. Drive Capital Strategy: Partner on capital allocation and corporate finance planning. Evaluate investments, assess returns on strategic initiatives, and help leadership balance growth, efficiency, and discipline.
  7. Run the Corporate Finance Engine: Lead planning, cash flow, and performance management so leadership has a forward-looking view of the business and the financial implications of every strategic decision.
