This role focuses on scientific and clinical exchange within the cardiometabolic health therapeutic area, acting as a liaison between Eli Lilly and healthcare professionals (SEs/CEs). The Associate Director will provide in-depth scientific and clinical information, gather insights, and support research and development efforts. The role requires deep content knowledge, continuous learning, and strategic engagement with key opinion leaders.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide leading researchers and practitioners with the scientific and clinical knowledge that most meaningfully and precisely addresses their needs (e.g., addressing clinical care gaps for their patients, clarifying nuanced clinical or research questions).
  2. Establish themself as a reliable, trusted resource of unbiased, accurate, up-to-date, medical and scientific information.
  3. Act as one of the primary interfaces between Lilly Medical and SEs/CEs to deliver a positive experience and utilize MSL capabilities to support HCPs in sharing evidence and addressing clinical care gaps for improved patient outcomes.
  4. Connect SEs/CEs with other Lilly resources or internal business partners as appropriate and facilitate collaborative research opportunities.
  5. Partner with clinical development in support of studies and investigators to accelerate the pipeline and evidence generation by delivering disease state and other scientific information aligned with site identification, selection, and recruitment.

Skills

Required

  • Advanced scientific degree (MD, PharmD, PhD or equivalent) in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a medical science liaison (MSL) role or similar field-based medical affairs position.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the cardiometabolic health therapeutic area.
  • Strong understanding of clinical research, drug development, and regulatory processes.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to synthesize and communicate complex scientific information effectively.
  • Strategic thinking and territory management skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.

Nice to have

  • Experience with electronic data capture (EDC) systems.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry best practices and compliance guidelines.
