Associate Director of Finance, Special Projects

Anduril Anduril · Defense · Costa Mesa, CA +2 · Finance & Accounting : Finance : Finance

Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking an Associate Director of Finance, Special Projects. This role will lead financial planning, analysis, structuring, and funding of complex, non-routine project finance initiatives, driving them from inception to execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong blend of financial acumen, capital markets expertise, and strategic thinking, with experience in structuring and executing complex financing deals or dedicated project finance environments. Responsibilities include developing and executing financing strategies, owning projects end-to-end, and managing detailed financial models. The role requires 10+ years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, or similar, with direct project finance transaction experience.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and execute financing strategies for critical projects, leveraging deep knowledge of debt, equity, and alternative capital markets. This includes structuring project finance arrangements, engaging with financial institutions and investment banks relating to project funding.
  2. Own projects end-to-end, from definition, solution, to implementation. You will be handed ambiguous, messy problems with little prescription on how to solve them.
  3. Execute scrappy analyses on short timelines to get answers quickly, while also owning more scalable solutions that will make Anduril successful in the long term
  4. Project manage across many stakeholders. If you don’t like being the person leading meetings with large groups of people or managing large Slack channels to wrangle stakeholders towards a solution, this may not be the role for you
  5. Work across functions and learn Anduril’s business top-to-bottom. You will interact with Finance, Growth, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, HR, Recruiting, and more
  6. Own detailed financial models end-to-end, from on-the-ground gathering of data, through creating materials, to presenting them to stakeholders
