Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Energetic Engineer/Energetic Engineer to develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing processes for NASA's Space Launch System, focusing on refurbishment, assembly, modification, and integration of flight structures and components. Responsibilities include process documentation, corrective actions, interpreting drawings, and auditing manufacturing steps. The role requires a STEM Bachelor's degree and the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Create, maintain, and evolve electronic process‑planning documentation for structural hardware.
  2. Document and drive corrective actions for hardware non‑conformances.
  3. Interpret complex drawings and specs; translate them into clear process guidance.
  4. Clarify work instruction intent for operators and answer technical questions.
  5. Verify readiness of work instructions, flight‑critical parts, and materials for new processes.

Skills

Required

  • STEM Bachelor's degree
  • Mechanical assembly & fastening
  • Bonding/coating/paint processes
  • Safety-critical handling & inspection (e.g., pyrotechnics, NDE)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time, walk up and down stairs, climb up ladders, reach into tight spaces, and lift up to 49 pounds.
