Lila Sciences Lila Sciences · AI Frontier · Alewife, Cambridge, MA · Autonomous Science Platform

The Associate / Engineer I, ResOps, Synthesis role at Lila Sciences focuses on hands-on materials synthesis and characterization within a high-throughput Research Operations team. This role involves preparing reagents, following SOPs, monitoring workflow performance, and collaborating with scientists and engineers. It requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering field and experience in wet lab environments, chemical handling, and materials synthesis. Bonus points are given for experience with specific materials, high-throughput environments, troubleshooting synthesis tools, and automated workflows.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform materials synthesis for materials including zeolites, MOFS, coolants, quantum dots, and lipid nanoparticles
  2. Prepare reagents, solutions/electrolytes , samples, and consumables to ensure seamless continuation of experiments across shifts
  3. Follow detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy, reproducibility, and throughput
  4. Monitor workflow performance, troubleshoot common issues, and escalate when necessary to ensure continuity between shifts
  5. Record, organize, and maintain experimental data with high attention to detail
