DoorDash is seeking a Federal Affairs Associate to shape public policy strategy, manage issue campaigns, and build relationships with federal stakeholders. The role involves advocating for legislation impacting the business and its community, analyzing policy, and developing internal processes to support the team's impact. The ideal candidate has experience in Congress, the Administration, or a federal agency, with a deep understanding of federal government relations and experience implementing workflows for a government affairs team.

What you'd actually do

  1. independently assist with integrated issue management campaigns
  2. build lasting and positive relationships with federal public policy stakeholders
  3. support the work of the Federal Affairs team and work closely with Public Affairs, Communications, Legal, and other business functions
  4. monitor, analyze, and synthesize legislation for senior leadership and cross-functional teams

Skills

Required

  • BS or BA from an accredited university
  • 3+ years of experience in Congress, the Administration, a federal agency, in-house, or a trade association working directly on federal public policy issues related to the app-based economy
  • deep understanding of federal government relations
  • experience implementing workflows that support a government affairs team
  • proven ability to monitor, analyze, and synthesize legislation for senior leadership and cross-functional teams
  • strong, clear written and oral communicator
  • organized, collaborative, and have a bias for action
  • self-starter; intrinsically motivated but also a good teammate

Nice to have

  • Government and in-house experience
  • Direct policy experience in employment/labor law
  • Experience in the tech industry, particularly the app-based economy
