Associate Guidance Navigation and Control (gnc) Engineer

Boeing Boeing · Aerospace · Berkeley, MO

Associate Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineer role at Boeing Defense, Space & Security focused on designing, developing, and integrating flight control systems for the T-7A Red Hawk. Responsibilities include defining requirements, developing complex simulations, designing and refining flight control laws, performing analysis and validation, and working with software engineers to integrate control laws into operational flight programs. Requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM field and 2+ years of experience, with a preference for a Master's degree and experience with C/C++, Matlab/Simulink, or MatrixX.

What you'd actually do

  1. Gather, define and document Guidance, Navigation and Control mission requirements and ensure requirements traceability and quality from the system level to component level
  2. Use multidisciplinary model data (aero, mass properties, propulsion, etc.) to develop and refine a complex, nonlinear, 6 degrees of freedom simulation model
  3. Support design of flight control laws and tools to achieve design and performance targets
  4. Use advanced analysis to assess and refine the control law design
  5. Perform model validation against test data to inform and improve the accuracy of the simulation environment
