Associate Manager, Infrastructure Bizops (foundation)

The Trade Desk The Trade Desk · Media · San Jose, CA · Product Management

This role is for an Associate Manager, Infrastructure BizOps (Foundation) at The Trade Desk. The primary focus is on owning the on-prem compute (Foundation) product line, including financial planning, commercial strategy, and results. Responsibilities include on-prem capacity planning, building CapEx and OpEx plans, leading hardware and capacity sourcing, structuring large on-prem commitments, and managing the FP&A cycle for the on-prem infrastructure. The role requires strong financial and quantitative modeling skills, familiarity with on-prem infrastructure buildouts, and strategic judgment. It is a product-focused role within the infrastructure business operations team, managing a significant portion of the company's infrastructure spend.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own on-prem capacity planning — translate demand into server and rack requirements, power and space envelopes, performance-per-watt and density assumptions, and a $/QPS driver tree.
  2. Build the multi-year CapEx and OpEx plan for the Foundation line, including CapEx timing and fixed-asset lifecycle (in-service, retirements, excess and obsolescence).
  3. Lead hardware and capacity sourcing: OEM/VAR negotiations, supply-chain management, delivery and rack turn-ups, and decommissioning strategy.
  4. Structure large on-prem commitments — colocation and hardware agreements and, where relevant, structured transactions such as sale-leasebacks — modeling total cost of ownership and risk.
  5. Run the on-prem FP&A cycle: AOP, reforecasts, variance analysis, and accounting-close support.

  • Prior experience at a Hyperscaler or Neocloud, or in datacenter / infrastructure operations
  • 2+ years in investment banking, private equity, or similar
