Associate Network Analyst

Visa's Technology Organization is seeking an Associate Network Analyst to join the Global Network Operations Centre (GNOC) team. This role involves in-shift detection, notification, and escalation of network issues, managing network and hardware events that may impair connectivity. The position requires a strong understanding of routing protocols, network hardware, monitoring tools, incident management, and TCP/IP, MPLS, WAN, LAN, SDWAN, and Cloud technologies. Responsibilities include troubleshooting connectivity issues, interpreting firewall logs, and using packet analyzers. Experience with network automation tools like Python or Ansible is desirable.

What you'd actually do

  1. As a member of Global Network Operations Centre (GNOC) team, the Application Support is the in-shift detection, notification and escalation point for network issues.
  2. They have the primary responsibility for managing and responding to Network, Hardware and external client and circuit events which may result in impaired connectivity to our clients and internal business.
  3. The position requires an in-depth understanding of how logical and physical connectivity issues can affect transaction quality of Visa Client.
  4. You will be able to explore many latest technologies that support the Visa Operations, such as Cloud, SASI Network, many other Payment products, and services.
  5. Modify and create work instructions or Recipes to prepare for similar impacting events and allow for a quicker response.

Skills

Required

  • Sound understanding and working knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, IS-IS and OSPF.
  • Good working knowledge on Cisco 65xx/72xx/76xx, Nexus 5k/7k & FEX, Arista switches, Bluecoat proxy, F5 LTM & GTM, Juniper, Silver Peak.
  • Good Knowledge of SolarWinds, Netcool, or other fault monitoring toolsets
  • Good Knowledge of ServiceNow or other incident and change management tools.
  • Broad knowledge and background on TCP/IP, MPLS, WAN, LAN SDWAN and Cloud technologies.
  • Good Knowledge of datacenters and wide-area-network routing/switching, tunneling, security operations/Network Design or engineering, MPLS and Ethernet carrier transports
  • Ability to interpret firewall logs and look for specific permission or denial of a source IPs to a specific destination in support of troubleshooting.
  • Experience on Packet analyser, Network discovery Tools like Thousand Eyes, Netbrain, Wireshark.
  • Basic load balancer knowledge.
  • Previous experience in Network Operations.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, organisational skills, ability to prioritise a constantly changing workload.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to excel as part of a team.
  • MS Office suite proficiency.

  • Diploma or equivalent experience
  • ITIL certification
  • Cisco CCNA, Juniper JNCIA, AWS, Silver Peak.
