Boeing is seeking an Associate or Experienced Electromagnetic Model Fabrication and Finishing Specialist to support the design, fabrication, assembly, finishing, and testing of new electromagnetic concepts and large model components. This role involves integrating components, transforming materials, and performing coating and finishing operations, with opportunities for training others. The position requires a security clearance and is expected to be fully onsite.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support the design, fabrication, assembly, and testing of new electromagnetic concepts
  2. Support the integration of electromagnetic components into highly precise models
  3. Transform raw and advanced materials into finished components
  4. Operate power tools, hand tools, and spray equipment
  5. Apply coatings, adhesives, sealants, fillers, and related materials using spray, roll, transfer, or extrusion methods

Skills

Required

  • Associate degree or higher in engineering, mathematics or physics
  • 1+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • 1 year of experience using HVLP and/or electrostatic spray gun equipment
  • 1 year of experience applying coatings, adhesives, or sealants by spray, roll, transfer, or extrusion methods
  • 1 year of experience in composite materials fabrication and assembly processes
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing or lab environment and wear required PPE including chemical resistant clothing, boots, hoods, and gloves for shifts lasting up to 8 hours
  • Experience operating forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts or related equipment
  • Ability to obtain respirator certification and wear a respirator when required
  • Ability to work with High Hazard Chemicals
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds

Nice to have

  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • Active Top Secret Clearance
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
  • Testing experience applicable to large model component fabrication and assembly
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering requirements, including drawings and process specifications
  • Leadership experience providing on-the-job training for fill, fair, and spray operations
  • Ability to work at heights and on elevated platforms
  • Ability to perform frequent overhead work, including sanding the underside of electromagnetic models
  • Ability to obtain and maintain safety harness certification and use fall protection equipment as required
  • Ability to obtain respirator certification and wear a respirator during sanding and chemical handling operations
  • Ability to obtain certification to operate electrically powered equipment, including forklift, boom lift, powered pallet jack, scissor lift, and floor-operated crane
