Boeing is seeking an Equipment & Tooling Engineer to join their Propulsion South Carolina team. The role involves designing, analyzing, and modifying aerospace manufacturing equipment and tooling to support production systems, with a focus on interacting with factory personnel. Responsibilities include evaluating requirements, developing equipment concepts, analyzing technical data, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting production readiness. Requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or science field and 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, mechanical, or tool engineering, with familiarity in GD&T and CAD/CAM software.

What you'd actually do

  1. Evaluates program and project requirements, develops moderately complex equipment and tooling concepts and designs solutions for the Production System.
  2. Compiles and analyzes technical data to determine the effects on product engineering design and rate estimates, identifies robotics, automation or technology recommendations and system integration for equipment and tooling.
  3. Ensures compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.
  4. Validates contractual performance milestones, maintains configuration control, conducts reviews, prepares plans for productions readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares.
  5. Conducts training for Production and Maintenance personnel.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 2 or more years related work experience in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Tool Engineering.
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • 2 or more years of experience using CAD/CAM software.

Nice to have

  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 or more years of experience using CATIA and ENOVIA software.
  • Experience in fabrication tooling, working with tooling and tooling processes, or working in a tooling technical field.
  • 5 or more years Tool Engineering experience.
  • Experienced with tooling supplier base or out plant tooling.
