Boeing is seeking an Associate or Mid-Level Weight Operations Technical Analyst to join their BCA Flight Sciences team. This role involves developing inventory equipment lists, conducting inventories, weighing aircraft, determining center of gravity, and documenting results. Responsibilities include preparing weight and balance documentation, balancing flight control surfaces, developing standard flight load planning, and assisting in aircraft inspections to calculate weight and center of gravity effects. The analyst will also weigh and determine centers of gravity for components and assemblies, and resolve routine problems with weight systems. The position requires experience in authoring or reviewing weight and balance manuals for regulatory requirements and estimating/measuring the weight of completed airframes or space vehicles. Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends and overtime, is necessary.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develops inventory equipment lists, conduct inventories, weighs aircraft, determines center of gravity of aircraft and documents results.
  2. Prepares Chapter 2 of the Weight and Balance Manual. Balances flight control surfaces.
  3. Develops standard flight load planning and helps direct airplane loading of variable load elements.
  4. Assists in the inspection of aircraft to calculate effects of actual weight and location of variable load elements on airplane gross weight and center of gravity and prepares flight manifest for pilot's signatures and flight release.
  5. Weighs and determines the centers of gravity of components and assemblies.

Skills
