Associate Propulsion Structures Design Engineer

This role focuses on the design of aircraft propulsion structures, ensuring they are safe, compliant, reliable, cost-effective, and lightweight. Responsibilities include developing and documenting system requirements, creating and modifying structural designs using CAD tools, performing validation tests, supporting supplier activities, and investigating emerging technologies for future product designs. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field and experience in structural design.

What you'd actually do

  1. Assists to develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design
  2. Develops, maintains and modifies basic structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle
  3. Performs tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
  4. Assists with supplier development, test and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals
  5. Supports investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 2+ years of experience with structural design
  • Willing to travel domestically as needed to support our customers

Nice to have

  • 1+ years of experience in aircraft structure, materials and properties, design criteria, and release processes
  • 1+ years of experience with engineering design tools such as CATIA, ENOVIA, and/or PDM
  • Experience with aircraft Nacelle structures design
