Associate Salesforce Administrator

This role supports the day-to-day administration of PitchBook's Salesforce platform, focusing on configuration, user access management, and ensuring platform security, reliability, and usability for internal teams. The GTM Systems team operates as an internal product and platform organization.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform basic Salesforce configuration including creating and updating custom fields, objects (as applicable), page layouts, record types, picklists, validation rules, and related metadata under established standards
  2. Support Salesforce security and access management: user provisioning and deprovisioning, license assignment, role hierarchy updates, profiles, permission sets, permission set groups, public groups, queues, and sharing settings (under guidance)
  3. Maintain and troubleshoot permissions and access issues, partnering with IT/Security and system owners as needed
  4. Support routine operational tasks such as sandbox refresh coordination, change tracking, and promoting simple changes using established deployment processes
  5. Assist with intake and triage of admin requests via ticketing workflows, communicating status and timelines and ensuring issues are documented and resolved

Skills

Required

  • 1+ years of experience administering Salesforce (or equivalent hands-on platform administration experience supporting business users)
  • Foundational knowledge of Salesforce configuration (fields, layouts, validation rules, record types) and the Salesforce security model (profiles, permission sets, roles, sharing)
  • Ability to manage user onboarding/offboarding tasks accurately and with a high level of confidentiality
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow defined change management processes
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and a customer-service mindset when supporting internal stakeholders

Nice to have

  • Salesforce Administrator Certification (ADM 201) preferred; willingness to obtain within the first 6 to 12 months if not already certified
  • Experience working in a ticketing system and/or an Agile environment is a plus
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily
