Seeking a Senior Associate Scientist to join the Biology group, focusing on advancing small molecule drug discovery programs by supporting in vitro cell-based assays. The role involves designing, developing, and executing assays, analyzing data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams including machine learning, medicinal chemistry, and biology to revolutionize drug discovery.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, develop, and optimize biochemical and cell-based assays to support multiple drug discovery programs, working closely with project teams and cross-functional partners.
  2. Independently execute biochemical and/or cell-based assays on a weekly basis to screen and evaluate small-molecule compounds
  3. Partner with Chemistry and Compound Management teams to enable efficient compound screening across pipeline projects.
  4. Analyze and interpret experimental data and ensure scientific rigor and data quality
  5. Partner with cross-functional teams to QC and upload experimental data in a timely manner

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, pharmacology, cell biology, or other related scientific areas with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience
  • Hands-on experience in cell biology and routine biological assays, including techniques such as cell culture, cell proliferation assays, cytotoxicity assays, ELISA, and Western blot
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills is required
  • Highly motivated to work in a cross-functional team setting
  • Flexibility and ability to quickly learn new skills and knowledge on the job

Nice to have

  • Experience with proximity-based assays is highly desirable (e.g., HTRF, NanoBRET, AlphaLISA)
  • Familiarity with HTS screening methodology is highly desirable

What the JD emphasized

  • proven track record of supporting in vitro cell-based assays to advance pre-clinical projects
