Associate/ VP - Equity Research, It Hardware & Technology Supply Chain

This role is for an Associate/VP in Equity Research focusing on the IT Hardware & Technology Supply Chain sector. The primary responsibilities include performing financial and statistical analyses, conducting research, preparing reports, originating and structuring transactions, assessing market trends, and formulating investment opinions. The candidate will work with senior analysts to identify investment ideas and present them in written research. A background in finance, accounting, economics, and technology is preferred, with an EE Engineering background being a plus.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform financial modeling & valuation work
  2. Regularly write industry and company reports and initiations of coverage from scratch
  3. Analyze data in market research databases
  4. Respond to research inquiries from our institutional investor clients during market hours
  5. Interview industry experts regarding our covered companies and industries

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience
  • 3-5+ years of experience focusing in equity research, buy side experience or investment banking experience
  • Strong writing and modeling skills (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement in Excel)
  • Excellent communications skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Attention to detail

Nice to have

  • Progress towards a CFA or other relevant professional certifications
  • EE Engineering background
  • Basic understanding of economics, macroeconomic factors, international affairs, and policy/politics
