This role is for an Attorney-Compliance within the Ford Motor Credit Company's Compliance Office. The attorney will provide advice on consumer finance laws, support the compliance management program, manage legal and compliance risk, coordinate regulatory examinations, manage fair lending monitoring, advise on licensing, monitor legal and regulatory changes, and develop training. The role requires a J.D., bar membership, and 5+ years of experience in consumer financial services legal or compliance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work collaboratively with members of the Ford Credit Legal and Compliance Offices to provide practical advice that demonstrates a strong understanding and application of consumer finance laws to Ford Credit’s business
  2. Support the maintenance and management of the Company’s compliance management program, policies and procedures, monitoring, training, and special compliance related projects
  3. Manage legal and compliance risk by anticipating and detecting areas of potential exposure, implementing or expanding preventive measures to ensure compliance and avoid costs, increasing employee awareness, and improving Company decision-making
  4. Coordinate and manage state regulatory examinations, and assist in coordination of federal regulatory reporting and regulatory examinations
  5. Manage fair lending monitoring program

Skills

Required

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Membership in good standing of a US state bar
  • 5+ years of experience in a large law firm or consumer financial services business legal or compliance department
  • Experience with the legal and regulatory requirements (e.g. Dodd-Frank, TILA, Consumer Leasing Act, FCRA, SCRA, UDAAP, GLB, ECOA, and state laws) applicable to financial services business
