Workday is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead their Authentication Security team. This role involves guiding technical strategy, execution, and mentoring engineers. The team focuses on building and maintaining secure, scalable, and seamless access services for millions of users, protecting data while enabling a frictionless experience. The manager will drive strategic execution, provide technical direction on authentication protocols, ensure delivery of secure features, build cross-functional partnerships, and foster engineering excellence.

What you'd actually do

  1. Drive strategic execution by leading and managing a team of software engineers to work on authentication and security systems.
  2. Provide technical direction in areas such as OAuth, OIDC, SAML, MFA, SSO, WebAuthn, and passkey-based authentication.
  3. Drive delivery of secure, high-quality features through agile processes and engineering practices.
  4. Build cross-functional partnership by collaborating with product managers, architects, and other engineering teams to craft the roadmap and execution strategy.
  5. Showcase operational excellence by owning and evolving planning and tracking using tools such as Jira, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and reporting.
