This role is for an Automated Maintenance Technician II at a Chewy Fulfillment Center. The primary responsibilities include maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing material handling equipment (MHE) such as conveyor systems, sortation systems, and other machinery. The role also involves basic electronics and PLC troubleshooting, operating handheld devices for work orders, and adhering to safety procedures. It requires a high school diploma and familiarity with wiring diagrams, electrical measurements, and work order management. Desired qualifications include vocational training or previous experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.

What you'd actually do

  1. Maintain, clean, lubricate, calibrate, and troubleshoot all electrical and mechanical aspects of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) on site (including conveyor systems, sortation systems, carton rectors, print and apply, compactors/balers) and motors, photo eyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids, motor starters, encoders, etc.
  2. Adjust scanners, cameras, scales, and printer applicators (PANDA)
  3. Reset, repair, or replace adjustable components (belts, chains, cables) and wearing components (guides, bearings, wheels, rollers, pulleys)
  4. Assist with basic electronics/ Programmable Logic Controls troubleshooting
  5. Operate handheld devices or desktop PC to build and close Work Orders with appropriate data (labor hours, downtime, problem/cause/remedy, and parts used)

Skills

Required

  • PC proficiency
  • ability to use handheld devices

  • Basic blueprint and schematic reading

Nice to have

  • Degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field
  • 3-5 years hands on previous experience in related field
  • Experience with automated conveyor systems and controls
  • Experience with MHE safety standards
