This role is for an Automation Engineering Technician IV in a manufacturing environment, focusing on troubleshooting and maintaining sophisticated automation equipment, including PLCs, vision systems, lasers, barcode readers, RFID readers, and robots. The technician will act as a technical lead, providing direction to on-shift technicians, developing troubleshooting guides, and collaborating with engineers on solutions for line runability issues. The role involves working with equipment across multiple generations of production technology.

What you'd actually do

  1. Fault-find sophisticated automation equipment.
  2. Work with the team to develop strong proficiencies problem solving within the lens manufacturing environment.
  3. Develop an in-depth knowledge of all control systems currently in use across the entire plant including PLC’s, vision systems, lasers, Barcode readers, RFiD readers, Robots and networks.
  4. Develop and publish comprehensive trouble shooting articles for sophisticated problems.
  5. Be part of the knowledge transfer process growing the technical skills of on shift personnel.
