Automotive Equipment Technician

This role involves performing maintenance and repair on a variety of vehicles and special equipment within the Verizon fleet. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues using computer test equipment, performing inspections (OSHA, ANSI, emissions, state), and utilizing fleet maintenance tracking systems for record-keeping and work assignments. The role requires a strong mechanical background, a CDL license, and the ability to meet physical demands.

What you'd actually do

  1. Performing maintenance and repair of all types of motor vehicles and special equipment in the Verizon fleet.
  2. Diagnosing, maintaining and repairing all company associated equipment, including aerial lifts, diggers, generators, tools, etc.
  3. Using computer test equipment to diagnose vehicle problems.
  4. Interfacing with vehicle users regarding repairs, questions, etc.
  5. Performing OSHA, ANSI, emissions, and state inspections on company vehicles.

Skills

Required

  • 5 or more years’ experience as a mechanic or other relevant experience
  • CDL License or Commercial Learner's Permit
  • Valid state driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job, including lifting up to 75 lbs
  • Ability to meet safety-related requirements

Nice to have

  • Recent experience performing maintenance and repairs on diesel vehicles
  • Current ASE Certifications
