Automotive Journeyman Cdl Required

UPS is seeking an Automotive Technician for their fleet maintenance team. The role involves maintaining various vehicles and equipment, including those with diesel, gasoline, and alternative fuel systems. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and maintaining hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engines. A CDL Class B with Air Brakes, Manual Trans, and 5th wheel or a CDL Class A is required. The position involves physical labor and working in various environmental conditions.

What you'd actually do

  1. Meets D.O.T requirements and CDL qualifications required by job assignment
  2. Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout duration of workday
  3. Sits infrequently, as required, throughout duration of workday
  4. Exercises simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assigned tasks
  5. Operates standard and manual transmission

Skills

Required

  • Current documented automotive mechanical experience
  • Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and personal computer
  • Possesses full complement of personal hand tools
  • CLD Class B with Air Brakes, Manual Trans, and 5th wheel or a CDL Class A

Nice to have

  • Power Industrial Truck Operations (PITO) certified
