Automotive Journeyman Technician

Seeking a reliable Automotive Technician to join our fleet maintenance team. Responsibilities include maintaining delivery vehicles, heavy-duty tractors, and trailers with various propulsion systems (diesel, gasoline, alternative technologies). Requires troubleshooting and maintaining hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls. Must have active driver's license, be 21+, and willing to work a specific shift. Requires Journeyman Automotive Mechanic experience and diagnostic equipment skills. Preferred CDL.

What you'd actually do

  1. Meets D.O.T requirements required by job assignment
  2. Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout duration of workday
  3. Sits infrequently, as required, throughout duration of workday
  4. Exercises simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assigned tasks
  5. Operates standard and manual transmission

Skills

Required

  • Active driver’s license
  • 21 years or older
  • Willing to work 5:00 p.m. - 1:30 a.m. shift, Monday to Friday
  • Possess required hand tools
  • Journeyman Automotive Mechanic experience
  • Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and personal computer
  • Hands-on experience with fleet repairs, welding and cutting
  • Dependable with ability to report to work on a regular and timely basis and complete scheduled workday on a consistent basis
  • Available to work varying shifts, additional hours and/or overtime depending on service needs
  • Wears personal protective equipment as required
  • Works in an environment with variable temperatures and humidity (climatic conditions), exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, and noise, outside inclement weather, etc.
  • Works cooperatively in a diverse work environment
  • Communicates effectively through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise, to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions

Nice to have

  • Class A/B or A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
