Automotive Technician

This role is for an Automotive Technician responsible for maintaining a diverse range of fleet vehicles, including those with diesel, gasoline, and alternative propulsion systems. The technician will troubleshoot and maintain various systems such as hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls. The position requires an active driver's license, willingness to work the 3rd shift, and possession of necessary hand tools. Experience with diagnostic equipment and scan tools is preferred, as is a Class A/B or A Commercial Driver's License.

What you'd actually do

  1. Meets D.O.T requirements required by job assignment
  2. Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout duration of workday
  3. Sits infrequently, as required, throughout duration of workday
  4. Exercises simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assigned tasks
  5. Operates standard and manual transmission
  6. Operates power and pneumatic tools

Skills

Required

  • Current documented automotive mechanical experience
  • Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and personal computer
  • Possesses full complement of personal hand tools
  • Dependable with ability to report to work on a regular and timely basis and complete scheduled workday on a consistent basis
  • Available to work varying shifts, additional hours and/or overtime depending on service needs
  • Wears personal protective equipment as required
  • Works in an environment with variable temperatures and humidity (climatic conditions), exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, and noise, outside inclement weather, etc.
  • Works cooperatively in a diverse work environment
  • Communicates effectively through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise, to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions

Nice to have

  • Class A/B or A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

What the JD emphasized

  • Must have an active driver’s license issued by the state
  • Must be willing to work 3rd shift 6:00PM-3:00AM Monday through Friday
  • Must possess the required hand tools required to perform the applicable job assignment.
