This role is for a hardware engineering lead at Carbon Robotics, a company that uses AI/ML and robotics for automated weed control. The lead will own the ATK hardware system end-to-end, drive engineering execution, and ensure platform reliability. The role requires experience in electrical, mechanical, embedded systems, and software, with a preference for startup environments. The individual contributor aspect involves unblocking technical challenges across various hardware components. The company has significant funding and is scaling its operations.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own the ATK hardware system holistically, including architecture, integration, reliability, and cross-functional alignment.
  2. Provide a clear technical vision for the engineering project team that is based on a deep understanding of the business, market, and technical requirements.
  3. Develop a detailed technical product development plan in coordination with Engineering leadership and the project team.
  4. Drive engineering development cycles, including:
  5. Provide mentorship to the hardware engineering team, providing technical direction, design guidance, and hands-on support when needed.
