This role is for an AVP of Strategic Deals and Contracting focused on the State and Local Government, Higher Education, and Growth (SLED) markets for Oracle Cloud. The position involves leading a team to structure and execute complex, high-value cloud transactions, advising sales leadership, customers, and other stakeholders. Key responsibilities include team leadership, strategic deal structuring, contract negotiation, executive customer engagement, business planning, and maintaining market expertise within the SLED sector. The role requires significant experience in enterprise technology sales, deal management, and leadership, with a strong emphasis on navigating public sector procurement and regulatory environments.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manage, coach, and develop a team of professionals supporting SLED cloud opportunities.
  2. Lead and oversee the commercial strategy, deal structuring, and negotiation of complex Oracle Cloud opportunities within State and Local Government and Higher Education accounts.
  3. Provide leadership and oversight for sophisticated contract negotiations involving procurement officials, legal counsel, CIOs, CFOs, presidents, chancellors, agency directors, and other executive stakeholders.
  4. Build and maintain executive-level relationships with customer leadership and key stakeholders across SLED organizations.
  5. Generate and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual business forecasts while maintaining a high degree of forecasting accuracy.
