Northrop Grumman Aeronautics System has an opening for an Aircraft Electrician 1 or 2. The selected candidate will join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. You will be supporting the B-2 modification team at Whiteman AFB, Mo.

Your duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Complete initial qualification training and earn certifications to perform work on the B-2 Bomber.
Training/certifications will be assigned by the supervisor and my include aircraft structures, electrical, low observables, engine removal and others based on upcoming aircraft modifications.
Performs all duties required to lay out, fabricate, and install electrical wiring or coaxial cable on aircraft.
Cuts wire to length, strips insulation from wire ends, and insulates connections with plastic sleeves.
Attaches wire or complicated electrical systems to fixtures and accessories such as: transformers, instrument panels, and switchboards with fasteners such as bolts, screws, or solder.
Must obtain and maintain electrical qualifications as well as other maintenance certifications
directed by the supervisor to include but not limited to; low observables, structures, hydraulic couplings, engine/tailpipe removal/installation.
Maintenance tasks include configuring aircraft for maintenance, removal and installation of attaching hardware, component removal and installations, assistance with software uploads, and various system operational checkouts.
Technical requirements also include fault isolation, troubleshooting, and repair of system failures detected during operational checks associated with maintenance and restoration of aircraft to flying condition.
Interprets and uses various test equipment and works from wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, job guides, and maintenance manuals.
Use of appropriate PPE when working on the shop floor.
The selected candidate must be willing to work various shifts depending on business needs, including, but not limited to: 1st shift 0630 – 1500, 2nd shift 1430 – 2300 and overtime when required.

Basic Qualifications:

Level 1: High School Diploma or GED and 0 years additional education and/or related experience.
Level 2: High School Diploma or GED and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and/or weekends to meet schedule or mission requirements.
Must be able to successfully complete and pass electrical training class for Continued Employment.
Must be able to access small confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment.
This position requires the ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 50 pounds, working overhead, and accessing small, confined spaces
Must be able to pass a physical/respiratory evaluation to obtain and maintain necessary respirator clearance and compliance with all respirator fitting requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

Active DOD Secret Clearance with an investigation date/periodic review within the last 6 years.
Hands-on experience with building, modifying, or maintaining aircraft, automotive, or other machines/equipment using common hand tools.
Strong interpersonal communication skills with ability to work with others at all levels of the organization.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence

Primary Level Salary Range: $38,600.00 - $64,000.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $45,800.00 - $76,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
