Backend Engineer - Security

Calendly Calendly · Enterprise · Remote · Security

Software Engineer - Security role focused on automating security workflows using modern tools, including AI. The role involves building internal tools, integrations, and reusable solutions to reduce risk and improve efficiency. While AI tools are used to accelerate development and problem-solving, the core deliverable is security automation, not AI model development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Identifying opportunities to eliminate manual security workflows and replace them with scalable, automated solutions
  2. Building internal tools and integrations that automate processes such as vulnerability triage and prioritization, alert enrichment and routing, and GRC evidence collection
  3. Partnering with security and engineering stakeholders to understand pain points and translate them into practical technical solutions
  4. Designing and building reusable “paved road” solutions that standardize how security workflows are executed across teams
  5. Using AI-assisted development tools and LLM APIs to accelerate implementation
