Battery System Engineer

This role focuses on in-depth analysis of competitor battery pack solutions in various vehicle sectors, identifying technical advantages, and providing recommendations for R&D innovation. It involves establishing tracking databases, leading benchmark testing, participating in battery pack system planning and design, and providing technical support throughout the development process. The goal is to drive iterative upgrades, cost reduction, and enhanced reliability of the company's battery solutions.

What you'd actually do

  1. Conduct full-dimensional in-depth analysis of leading competitor battery pack solutions in the global passenger vehicle, new energy commercial vehicle, and construction machinery sectors, and deliver systematic technical assessment reports.
  2. Precisely capture cutting-edge design concepts, innovative technical routes, and differentiated advantages in the industry. Combined with the company’s whole-vehicle electrification business scenarios, identify technically viable and implementable directions, and output technical feasibility analyses and application recommendations to guide the team’s R&D innovation.
  3. Establish a dynamic tracking database for competitor battery technologies, regularly update industry technology trends and benchmark product iteration information, and prepare monthly/quarterly technical insight reports. This helps the team stay ahead of industry developments and avoid technical homogenization.
  4. Lead benchmark testing and validation of competitor technologies. Compare and analyze core indicators such as performance, reliability, cost, and adaptability to identify internal technical gaps and optimization directions, driving the iterative upgrade of the company’s battery solutions.
  5. Based on competitor technology research findings and the company’s business need, participate in the planning and design of battery pack system solutions for construction machinery/commercial vehicles, and lead key technology selection, architecture definition, and technical route formulation.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, Electrochemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics, or related fields.
  • 8+ years of relevant working experience in the power battery industry
  • Familiar with battery system technologies for passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and construction machinery
  • Proficient in core technologies of power battery systems
  • master mainstream technical routes in battery pack system architecture, thermal management, structural design, and core BMS logic.
  • Possess strong in-depth competitor analysis capabilities
  • capable of independently completing competitor analysis, technical assessment, cost analysis and value extraction
  • proficient in using data analysis and benchmarking tools to deliver professional reports.
  • Familiar with domestic and international power battery-related standards (such as ISO 26262, IEC 62660, UN 38.3, etc.) and compliance requirements for construction machinery electrification
  • understand the battery supply chain system and cost structure.
  • Have solid solution design and optimization capabilities
  • able to deliver technically feasible and cost-competitive battery system solutions based on competitor research and business needs.

Nice to have

  • practical experience in battery solution design, type selection evaluation, competitor analysis, or electrification projects for commercial vehicles/construction machinery are preferred
  • Candidates who have led the selection and implementation of battery solutions for at least 3 complete vehicle electrification projects are preferred.
