Battery Systems Engineer

Meta Meta · Big Tech · Sunnyvale, CA +1

This role focuses on the electrical design, integration, and manufacturing support of battery packs for Meta's state-of-the-art devices. The engineer will collaborate with product teams to define requirements, work with vendors on development, and ensure smooth New Product Introduction processes. Responsibilities include developing electrical and interconnect architectures for Battery Management Systems, creating specifications, validation plans, and test fixtures. The role also involves failure analysis, root cause analysis, and supporting software integration. Experience with Li-ion battery pack design, Battery Management Systems, consumer electronics, PCB design, and programming languages like Python or C is required. The posting also mentions integrating AI tools to optimize workflows and ongoing AI skill development, but these are not the core craft of the role.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work with product groups to define and deliver battery packs as per requirement
  2. Work with vendors to develop battery packs per Meta’s requirements
  3. Develop Electrical and interconnect architectures for battery management systems
  4. Develop engineering requirements and specifications, test and validate plans for manufacturing and characterization of battery packs
  5. Develop test boards and test fixtures to validate the performance of batteries
