Benefits Onboarding Advocate

This role is for a Benefits Advocate on the CX team at Gusto. The role involves supporting small businesses with their health insurance benefits, acting as a single point of contact for inquiries and renewals. The role requires leveraging AI-assisted tools to enhance research and communication, identifying churn risk, and building customer relationships. While AI tools are used, the core function is customer experience and benefits advocacy, not building AI models.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own the customer journey by building trust, rapport, and partnership with customers through inbound and outbound phone, email, and Zoom interactions.
  2. Provide passionate, opinionated, consistent, expert, reliable support as a point of contact for health insurance benefits inquiries.
  3. Partner with internal teams to address and resolve customer inquiries and concerns throughout the benefits renewal process.
  4. Leverage AI‑assisted tools to accelerate research and communication while upholding accuracy, compliance, and Gusto’s voice.
  5. Identify churn risk and quickly act to deliver solutions to mitigate the risk of churn, using your health insurance benefits and product knowledge and unique understanding of each individual customer.

Skills

Required

  • 3-6 years of customer experience
  • 1+ years of full-time experience in health insurance benefits
  • Proven ability to proactively and reactively support customers, driving their success, happiness, and loyalty through expert guidance and creative problem-solving.
  • Ability to synthesize and communicate complex subjects clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with customers and internal partners.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Zoom, Google Suite, Google Calendar, Gmail, and Chili Piper.
  • Excels in balancing inbound calls, scheduled meetings, and email inquiries while managing and prioritizing multiple high-priority resolutions effectively.
