Billing Manager

Celonis is a leader in Process Intelligence and Process Mining technology, seeking a Billing Manager to lead their billing team within the Global Finance Team. This role involves managing complex invoicing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for cash collection and revenue realization, driving system improvements in billing tools and ERP, and supporting day-to-day operations. The position requires collaboration with various departments, building reports for billing accuracy, handling escalations, and supporting audits with strict compliance and data integrity.

What you'd actually do

  1. Managing the team and driving key projects to drive long term efficiencies within the billing process.
  2. Supervise daily bill runs and review and approve draft invoices for material, high-value deals across our billing entities.
  3. Define daily priorities for the billing team and actively support their day-to-day operational activities.
  4. Collaborate cross-functionally with Deal Desk, FinOps, Collections and others to ensure clean, accurate, and seamless order-to-cash workflows.
  5. Build reports and track metrics to monitor billing accuracy and ensure we successfully meet all month- and quarter-end closing deadlines.

Skills

Required

  • 4+ years of proven experience in a fast-paced billing, order-to-cash, or financial operations role.
  • Deep system expertise using core billing and enterprise platforms, specifically Zuora Billing, Salesforce, and Workday.
  • Decisiveness under pressure, with the ability to make sound, swift decisions to consistently meet narrow deadlines (especially during month and quarter-end close).
  • Strong negotiation and alignment skills, bringing the experience and confidence needed to resolve disputes and close agreements with both internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, always looking for proactive ways to optimize workflows, eliminate bottlenecks, and scale our global billing processes.
  • A target-driven and collaborative approach; you are highly goal-oriented but remain a true team player who fosters a positive environment.
  • Strong business communication skills, requiring a high level of professional English (proficiency in additional languages is a great plus for supporting our global entities).
