Biotransformation Associate Scientist

Pfizer Pfizer · Pharma · CT

Associate Scientist role at Pfizer focused on drug metabolism studies using analytical techniques like HPLC/MS and NMR. Responsibilities include sample preparation, metabolite characterization, data analysis, and documentation within a research and development setting.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support generation of metabolites for NMR characterization by incubating drug candidates in microsomal and/or hepatocyte systems
  2. Support analysis of metabolites using analytical HPLC/MS and metabolite isolation using preparative HPLC
  3. Acquire, process and interpret both 1D and 2D NMR spectra—such as 1H, 13C, COSY, HSQC, HMBC, and NOESY—to determine metabolite structures
  4. Use 1H and 19F qNMR to measure the concentration of these isolates
  5. Additionally, the candidate will work with LC-MS/MS data to provide orthogonal structural confirmation of drug metabolites
