Boeing's AI & Autonomy group is seeking a PhD intern to assist in the development of common autonomy capabilities for commercial and military programs, focusing on areas like Detect and Avoid, Contingency Management, Mission Plan Validation, and Collaborative Autonomy.

What you'd actually do

  1. assist in the development of common capabilities across Commercial and Military programs
  2. develop and deliver common capabilities – autonomy development infrastructure, autonomous capabilities, and component functions for autonomy
  3. work closely with the Business Units (BUs), who are doing product, and platform-specific development
  4. actively launching and executing projects in this area, working closely with BU programs like Wisk, MQ-25, MQ-28, and commercial airplanes

Skills

Required

  • Completed the first year of PhD studies by July 2026
  • Pursuing a PhD in Computer Science/Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar related field
  • Enrolled student attending a college or university with an expected graduation date on or after August 2026
  • Ability to work full-time for 10-12 weeks during Summer 2026
