This role supports the maintenance and operational efficiency of automated facilities by assisting with equipment repair scheduling, preventative maintenance, and facility inspections. It involves overseeing asset protection, coordinating repairs with mechanics and vendors, and ensuring environmental and regulatory compliance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Assists with overseeing the protection of physical assets, facility and equipment maintenance, and facility housekeeping.
  2. Assists with identifying and scheduling necessary repairs and preventative maintenance using BaSE mechanics and outside vendors to maintain the condition of the facility.
  3. Communicates assigned work status to colleagues to determine potential impact on the department's schedule.
  4. Assists with maintaining environmental compliance in accordance with UPS environmental programs (e.g., Storm Water, Clean Air, Hazardous Materials, etc.) to promote the environment and health and safety of UPS workers and the surrounding community.
  5. Delivers required regulatory training (e.g., Lockout Training/Hazmat Training) as directed, to BaSE and non-BaSE personnel.

Skills

Required

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and simple diagrams
  • Availability to work flexible shift hours
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree or international equivalent in Engineering/IT
  • Programming experience including troubleshooting, basic understanding of networks, motor control theory, and operation including basic AC and DC electrical troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
