This role focuses on analyzing and improving vendor invoicing processes within Amazon's Translation Services team. While it involves leveraging AI/ML capabilities for automation and process simplification, the core function is business analysis and operational improvement, not direct AI/ML model development or research. The role aims to optimize quality, speed, and cost, and involves building dashboards, automating processes, and ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own and monitor key invoicing metrics end-to-end, diving deep into data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities; then implementing solutions
  2. Design, build, and maintain analytical frameworks and dashboards that ensure financial accuracy and process compliance
  3. Leverage data to propose business improvements and inform decision-making; including vendor selection, workflow redesigns, and cost structure optimization
  4. Proactively identify automation and process simplification opportunities, particularly leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) capabilities, and drive them from concept to implementation
  5. Conduct root cause analyses on process failures and develop scalable preventive solutions

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience in business or financial analysis
  • Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
  • Experience with Excel
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience in Business English skills, both verbal and written

Nice to have

  • Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis, or experience communicating results to senior leadership
  • Bachelor's degree or above in operations research, applied mathematics, theoretical computer science, or equivalent, or experience working with or evaluating AI systems
  • Experience with Python or R for data analysis and automation
  • Experience in vendor management, procurement, or financial operations
  • Experience developing business cases or strategic recommendations that led to operational model changes (e.g., vendor switches, workflow redesigns, cost structure optimization)
  • Comfortable working in an international, dynamic environment, where change is present as we constantly grow, improve, and innovate
