Business Development and Capture Manager - Aircraft Sustainment

Northrop Grumman Northrop Grumman · Aerospace · Fortitude Valley, QLD, Australia · Account Management

Northrop Grumman Australia is seeking a Business Development and Capture Manager for Aircraft Sustainment. This strategic role focuses on shaping future investments in air sustainment and modernization over the next decade. The ideal candidate will identify gaps, develop early-stage ideas into credible projects, and leverage their defense and industry network. The role requires deep air-domain experience and the ability to translate concepts into business cases. It offers a pathway to senior leadership and requires Australian citizenship and a secret clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Gather and interpret market and capability intelligence, aligning it to NGA’s long‑term strategic objectives.
  2. Draw on deep, lived air‑domain experience, such as aircraft maintenance, aircrew, or sustained platform exposure, to shape direction and influence future investment.
  3. Use your Defence and industry network to identify emerging opportunities in aircraft sustainment and modernisation, with a clear understanding of what “next generation” means at an operational level.
  4. Work with engineering, sustainment, and delivery teams to turn early concepts into credible business cases and executable plans.
  5. Provide leadership and direction to others, scaling this thinking across the team rather than doing everything yourself.
