The Trade Desk is a global technology company and the world’s leading independent platform for digital advertising. This Business Development Director role focuses on managing and growing strategic relationships with major CPG clients nationally. The role involves understanding client needs, communicating the value of the media buying platform, participating in product roadmap discussions, responding to RFPs, identifying up-selling opportunities, and building internal relationships. The ideal candidate has a strong sales or marketing background in online advertising, experience with major advertising clients, and quantitative and negotiation skills.

What you'd actually do

  1. Take ownership for representing 1-2 of our most strategic relationships with The Trade Desk’s largest CPG clients nationally
  2. Work collectively with greater global Sales, Client Services, and Trading teams to cultivate focused accounts and brands
  3. Establish new/cultivate existing relationships with commercial and contract leads at major Advertising clients
  4. Communicate the value of our media buying platform by aligning The Trade Desk’s media buying philosophy and technology with our clients
  5. Participate in product road map build out discussions based on client needs with senior leadership, product, & engineering

Skills

Required

  • online advertising outbound sales and/or marketing
  • understanding of the Tech category
  • experience at an online publisher, ad network, ad exchange, ad server, SEM platform, DSP, or other online advertising/marketing role
  • relationships with decision makers at major agencies and advertisers
  • establishing longstanding, consultative client relationships
  • quantitative skills
  • negotiation ability
  • communication skills
  • ability to speak with C-level clients
