This is an internship role focused on business development within Amazon Web Services (AWS) Startup Team. The intern will drive university engagement and startup acquisition, build strategic partnerships with universities, and manage the onboarding process for startups into the AWS Activate Program. Responsibilities include identifying, nurturing, and supporting early-stage startups from campus ecosystems, working with internal stakeholders, and ensuring alignment with key metrics. The role involves understanding startup founder needs and guiding them through the AWS journey, as well as supporting Joint Innovation Center (JIC) programs and cross-functional collaboration.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build and manage strategic partnerships with universities, including engagement with incubation & entrepreneurship centers, and faculties to identify startups
  2. Plan and execute university-focused programs and events including workshops, hackathons, startup pitch competitions, and incubation center partnerships to drive startup discovery and Activate sign-ups
  3. Own end-to-end Activate onboarding for university-sourced startups — from initial outreach and qualification through application, activation, and ongoing nurturing
  4. Drive key program metrics including Activate sign-ups, startups onboarded, and university events run
  5. Support data analysis, tracking of metrics and reporting, special project management, proposal writing, and post-event tracking and follow-up

Skills

Required

  • Currently pursuing an Undergraduate Degree or Master’s degree who is looking to build a career in Technology and IT Business Development.
  • Pursuing a degree in computer science, IT, finance, business, marketing, or relevant field of study.
  • Able to attend internship from Jul 2026 to Jul 207
  • Good organizational skills including problem solving, prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines.
  • Basic understanding of cloud computing landscape and AWS
