Business Development Manager, Venture Capital

Carta is seeking a Business Development Manager to represent the company in the market and grow its network, deepen relationships, and develop business opportunities within the venture capital ecosystem. The role involves partnering with key venture capital funds and industry actors, identifying new relationships, coordinating with Sales and Marketing, and conveying field feedback to internal stakeholders. The goal is to expand Carta's distribution and market share for Venture Capital products by leveraging and deepening existing networks and developing new ones.

What you'd actually do

  1. Create champions for Carta’s Venture Capital products (VC fund administration, fund and SPV formation, valuations, and portfolio insights) within the investment management ecosystem by partnering with, developing scalable strategies for, and engaging directly with key venture capital funds, as well as industry actors such as law firms, banks, audit firms, tax firms, placement agents, LPs, asset managers, industry associations, educational cohorts, universities, government agencies, and more.
  2. Identify and develop new long-term relationships to grow Carta’s network and business
  3. Coordinate and work alongside our Sales and Marketing teams to activate mutual books of business
  4. Work cross-functionally across the business with Sales, Marketing, Product, Implementations, Delivery, and Support; convey feedback from the field to internal stakeholders
  5. Develop and execute strategies to convert relevant firms where Carta does not have deep relationships into preferred partners
