Decagon is seeking a Business Development, Private Equity Lead to drive expansion by cultivating executive relationships across enterprises, private equity firms, and strategic partners. This role focuses on accelerating growth through high-impact commercial and partnership outcomes, working closely with founders and go-to-market leaders to secure meaningful relationships with senior decision-makers. It requires strong judgment, executive presence, and the ability to operate in ambiguous, founder-led situations, with a focus on driving adoption across PE portfolio companies.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build and expand Decagon’s executive network across the U.S., including enterprise customers, private equity firms, strategic partners, and investors
  2. Partner directly with Decagon’s founders on high-stakes, complex enterprise opportunities
  3. Cultivate relationships with C-level and VP-level executives in customer experience, operations, technology, and digital transformation
  4. Develop and manage strategic partnerships, including private equity firms, systems integrators, ecosystem partners, and PE-backed platforms
  5. Work with PE firms to drive Decagon adoption across portfolio companies

Skills

Required

  • 8+ years of experience in strategic growth, partnerships, enterprise GTM, or founder-adjacent roles
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility with senior executives, VC/PE investors, and operators, and close complex, relationship-driven opportunities
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills
  • Proven judgment in prioritizing deals, partners, and markets
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-changing environments without heavy process
  • Willingness to travel as needed
