Business Development Representative

This role is for a Business Development Representative (BDR) at GitLab, an organization that uses AI as a core productivity multiplier. The BDR will focus on outbound prospecting, generating qualified meetings and pipeline for the sales organization by understanding business needs, researching target accounts, and executing multi-touch outreach cadences. The role involves collaborating with marketing and sales teams, managing activities in Salesforce, and documenting processes. While the company heavily utilizes AI, this specific role is in sales development and does not involve building or shipping AI models.

What you'd actually do

  1. Execute outbound prospecting initiatives to generate qualified meetings and pipeline in your assigned territory.
  2. Conduct high-level discovery conversations with target accounts to understand business needs, qualify opportunities, and create Sales Accepted Opportunities (SAOs).
  3. Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly BDR-sourced Sales Accepted Opportunity (SAO) targets by consistently converting qualified prospects into opportunities.
  4. Research and prioritize target accounts using business and industry knowledge to identify key players, uncover compelling events, and develop tailored outreach strategies.
  5. Execute a multi-touch outreach cadence (call, email, social, etc.) to all prospects in your assigned territory using Outreach.io to maximize engagement and conversion rates.
