This role is for a Business Intelligence Engineer on the GO-AI team within Amazon Robotics. The primary focus is on developing foundation models for complex visual reasoning tasks, but the role itself is centered around data analysis, ETL pipeline design, and dashboard creation to support leadership decision-making. While the team works with AI and foundation models, this specific role is more on the BI/data engineering side, using AI tools and insights rather than directly building or shipping AI models.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support leadership decision-making by deep-diving into business hypotheses and anecdotes.
  2. Design and automate ETL pipelines for business metrics.
  3. Design insightful dashboards and reports for a senior leadership with a mixture of technical and non-technical backgrounds.
  4. Research the most appropriate methodologies for a given analytical problem.
  5. Contribute to key business documents.

Skills

Required

  • analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • SQL, ETL or Oracle experience
  • processing large, multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources experience
  • performing statistical analysis experience
  • developing automated reporting experience
  • data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
  • SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse
  • scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

Nice to have

  • AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
  • data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
