Business Intelligence Analyst 1

Chegg Chegg · Consumer · United States · Remote

This role is for a Senior Product Analyst at Chegg Skills, focusing on understanding and improving the learner experience through data analysis. The analyst will partner with Product Managers, Learning Scientists, and Engineers to identify friction points, measure engagement, and translate insights into product decisions. Responsibilities include defining key metrics, analyzing experiments, developing dashboards, and communicating findings. The role requires strong analytical skills, SQL, Python/R, and experience with data visualization tools, with an emphasis on using data to drive user-centric, evidence-based decision-making. While the role involves integrating AI as an enabler, its core function is product analytics and not direct AI/ML model development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Partner with Learning Science and Instructional Design to conceptually map how learning model standards—difficulty curves, skill levels, instructional flow—translate into learner outcomes.
  2. Create metrics for learning quality, persistence, and proficiency—moving beyond clicks and usage to identify the metrics that are true predictors of completion and satisfaction.
  3. Develop and maintain dashboards that visualize learner progress, satisfaction, and experience quality, creating a single source of truth for program health.
  4. Partner with Product Managers and Learning Scientists to design and analyze experiments (A/B, multivariate, feature pilots) that measure the impact of new formats, UX improvements, or product features.
  5. Collaborate with Learning Science to link quantitative data with qualitative insights, grounding product design in evidence.
