This role focuses on developing analytical solutions and automated data pipelines to improve business intelligence and supply chain optimization within Amazon's EU network. The Business Intelligence Engineer III will be responsible for creating data pipelines, ensuring data integrity, and analyzing business problems to drive improvements in forecasting, inventory management, and operational efficiency. The role requires strong data engineering, SQL, and scripting skills, with an emphasis on translating business needs into data-driven solutions.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop analytical solutions to business problems that utilize the highest standards of analytical rigor and data integrity
  2. Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
  3. Write high quality code to retrieve and analyze data
  4. Analyze and solve business problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context
  5. Design pragmatic analyses and automated metrics that add value to your business area

Skills

Required

  • Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
  • Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
  • Experience with AWS technologies
  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
  • Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience in the data/BI space
  • Experience visualizing data in Tableau or other relevant data visualization software
  • Experience in data warehouse technical architectures, data modeling, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT and reporting/analytic tools and environments, data structures and hands-on SQL coding
  • Experience with advanced Excel, SQL, and MySQL
  • Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines, or experience in a fast-paced, high-tech company
  • Experience completing complex tasks quickly with little to no guidance and react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround, or experience managing multiple complex calendars, planning and organizing events of all sizes, and coordinating domestic and international travel
  • Experience in ownership of projects and communicating timelines and executing independently
  • Experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership
  • Experience creating reports, interpreting metrics and driving overall insights or analysis

Nice to have

  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Knowledge of one or more industry analytics visualization tools like Excel, Tableau, AWS QuickSight, MicroStrategy or PowerBI, and statistical methods like t-test or Chi-squared
