This role is a Business Planning Manager focused on operations, specifically managing resource assignments for capacity planning, resource utilization, and project forecasting. It requires experience in third-party subcontracting, vendor management, resource onboarding, and project staffing, along with people management and strong attention to detail. The role involves understanding business drivers, acting as a business partner, managing direct reports, and ensuring adherence to policies and processes.

What you'd actually do

  1. All aspects of people management for your direct reports, including but not limited to: Training and develoment of Resource Analysts; communicating any changes to policy & process; ensuring workloads are fair and manageable; manage learning and training requirements; ensuring that goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) are communicated clearly; monitoring performance against goals and KPIs; conduct regular performance evaluations, including the compulsory end of year evaluation; and conduct disciplinary proceedings as applicable, in line with policy.
  2. Understanding the key drivers of your line of business, and acting as a trusted business partner for your key stakeholder groups.
  3. Building an effective and productive relationship at manager level with those key stakeholder groups.
  4. Attending regular calls with those stakeholder groups, and occasionally hosting or attending ad hoc calls with those groups as required.
  5. Alerting stakeholders as and when policies and/or processes are changed, and communicating clearly on how these changes may affect different stakeholder groups.
