This role is for a Business Process Analyst at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, focusing on manufacturing applications within the Automation & Operations domain. The analyst will serve as an Epic Owner, translating business strategy into prioritized delivery, coordinating stakeholders, and decomposing epics into features and stories for manufacturing systems like ERP, MES, and PLM. The role involves leading cross-functional discovery, backlog prioritization, Agile/SAFe execution, and supporting testing and change management. Experience in manufacturing environments and with manufacturing systems is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as Epic Owner: define vision, goals, scope, acceptance criteria, success metrics, and high-level roadmap for assigned epics
  2. Lead cross-functional discovery with manufacturing stakeholders (operations, quality, engineering, supply chain) to capture needs and validate solutions
  3. Decompose epics into features, capabilities, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria and traceability
  4. Prioritize backlog items to maximize business value and align with product strategy and release plans
  5. Drive planning and execution in Agile/SAFe environments — participate in PI planning, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of business analysis / product ownership experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • 5+ years of solid understanding of manufacturing processes: discrete or process manufacturing, production planning, shop floor control, quality management

Nice to have

  • 7+ years of business analysis / product ownership experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Demonstrated experience with manufacturing systems (ERP, MES, PLM) and integrations between them
  • Strong hands-on experience with Agile tooling (Jira, ADO) and documentation (Confluence/Macroscope)
  • Proven ability to write high-quality acceptance criteria, user stories, process flows, and technical handoffs
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills — able to influence at all levels
  • Strong analytical skills; comfortable working with data (SQL knowledge preferred) and metrics to demonstrate impact
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
