Job summary
As a/an Process Improvement Associate I – 601 in OEO (Home Lending), you’ll create clear, accurate Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) and Decision Model and Notation (DMN) process models that document as-is and to-be workflows and support analysis, improvement, and automation at scale. You’ll work with us and with business and technology stakeholders to capture steps, roles, systems, inputs/outputs, controls, and pain points that enable operational excellence and regulatory compliance. You’ll also mentor junior modelers by providing reviews and coaching, helping the team deliver consistent, governed models and actionable requirements.
Job responsibilities
- Create BPMN- or DMN-compliant diagrams, including events, tasks, gateways, subprocesses, swimlanes, message flows, and data objects
- Define process hierarchies, value streams, and capability maps aligned to business architecture and strategic outcomes
- Lead discovery workshops and stakeholder interviews with subject matter experts and executives and synthesize inputs into accurate, governed models and narratives
- Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and developers to align models with change initiatives
- Document risks, controls, service levels, key performance indicators, handoffs, systems, and data objects with traceability to policies and regulatory requirements
- Translate process models into actionable epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria for change, automation, and technology delivery
- Establish modeling standards, style guides, naming conventions, and metadata taxonomy and manage model repositories
- Conduct model walkthroughs, conformance checks, and reviews, drive sign-offs, and remediate findings quickly
- Use process mining and analytics to validate current-state flows, quantify bottlenecks, and prioritize improvements using data
- Identify optimization opportunities and build business cases that articulate impact and feasibility and Mentor and coach junior modelers/analysts through peer reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- College-level education
- At least 2 years of applied experience in process modeling using applicable tools
- Ability to create BPMN and DMN process models that document both current-state and future-state workflows
- Experience leading process discovery workshops and stakeholder interviews and producing clear process narratives
- Ability to translate process models into epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria for delivery teams
- Strong knowledge of Home Lending processes
- Demonstrated knowledge of delivering or supporting process innovation initiatives (for example, workflow improvement, automation, data transformation, or generative AI-enabled improvements)
- Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and succinctly
- Ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
