This role is for a Business Program Manager in Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) organization, focusing on leading strategic programs to enhance operational excellence, service availability, and continuous improvement within data centre operations. The role involves partnering with operations, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate priorities into actionable plans, drive measurable outcomes, and influence leadership decisions to ensure the reliability, security, and optimization of the infrastructure supporting Microsoft's cloud services.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own and deliver strategic programmes and initiatives aligned to regional and global priorities, including availability, efficiency, safety, and risk reduction
  2. Define programme scope, objectives, success metrics, and timelines; drive delivery end-to-end across multiple stakeholders
  3. Manage dependencies, risks, and trade-offs, ensuring programmes remain on track and deliver measurable business impact
  4. Analyse operational data, trends, and incident patterns to identify opportunities for improvement
  5. Proactively bring forward insights and recommendations that shape decision-making and improve service performance

Skills

Required

  • Proven experience in programme or project management within a technical, operational, or infrastructure environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive measurable outcomes
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Nice to have

  • Experience in data centre operations, cloud infrastructure, or critical environments (e.g. IT, facilities, engineering)
  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Certifications such as PMP, Agile, ITIL, or similar
  • Experience driving operational transformation or continuous improvement initiatives
