Business Systems Analyst

Boeing Vancouver is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to translate business needs into software requirements for defense and government services. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders, performing research and analysis, documenting requirements, and supporting the software development lifecycle. The candidate must be eligible for Canadian Government Controlled Goods Program (CGP) assessment and obtain a Canadian Secret Level II Security Clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Performs research and analysis on processes, applications, systems and data to identify functional requirements and business relationships for application or system designs.
  2. Build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholder groups to understand and document common pain points and identify capability gaps.
  3. Manages and facilitates workshops with program and customer stakeholders and various Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather user requirements and identify potential solutions
  4. Performs exploratory data analysis in collaboration with end-user groups and data scientists to deeply understand the meaning of data and its relationship to business operations.
  5. Works closely with different teams (e.g. Product Owner, Portfolio Leads, Technical team) to ensure issues and requests are addressed in a timely manner and tracked to completion.

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years of experience with Systems Analyst or Business Analyst using Customer facing software products within a medium-to-large enterprise.
  • Experience using tools such as Confluence, Jira, Visio, or draw.io to document requirements, process flows, and data models.
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems.
  • Candidate must be eligible for authorization under the Canadian Government Controlled Goods Program (CGP) assessment.
  • Must be able to obtain Canadian Secret Level II Security Clearance.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada.
  • Individuals must not pose a risk for safeguarding controlled goods.
  • Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data.

Nice to have

  • Inquisitive by nature, with a tendency to challenge assumptions and probe beyond surface-level requirements.
  • Familiarity with data analysis concepts and comfort working with structured datasets.
  • ERP (SAP) knowledge would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of aerospace industry would be an asset.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field (IT, Engineering, Computer Science or other relevant discipline), or equivalent experience, with 3+ years in a similar role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
